Bruce's Mills Conservation Area

Located in the township of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Bruce Mill Conservation Area is home to a number of diverse ecosystems. With an area of 108 hectares, this Toronto and Region Conservation Authority area includes 1.2 hectares of wetlands, a historic water-powered mill, and 44 combined hectares of deciduous, coniferous and mixed wood forest. The Bruce Mill Conservation Area offers a variety of traditional recreational uses, such as picnicking and hiking. To meet the needs of the surrounding community, partnership programming offers activities such as a BMX bike park, treetop trekking, playgrounds, learning and educational outreach, sports fields and a golf driving range. This tour will include a discussion of the conservation area’s history, its design to protect natural features, and its evolution to meet community needs.
